ACE Healthcare Program - For Freshmen

The ACE/Hoop Healthcare Program pilot is a scholarship program available at five Maricopa Colleges, including South Mountain Community College.  Accepted students into this program will start the program this Summer 2024 and can earn up to 50 college credits in general and pre-requisite classes for career fields in healthcare and nursing.

This pilot program is for:

  • Freshman (9th grader) who are enrolled in a math or science course at the time of application submission
    and who meet two or more of the following criteria:

    • First-generation to attend college

    • Living in a single-parent home

    • Member of an underrepresented group

    • Experiencing economic hardship

    • Environmental factors, such as working 10-30 hrs/week while attending high school, living in foster care or temporary housing, or is a teen parent.

For any student and their parent(s) that are interested in applying for the ACE/Hoop Healthcare Program.
