On Friday, the Phoenix Union High School District (PXU) announced Mr. Ulises Aragon as the next Bioscience High School Principal, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. He replaces Ms. Neda Boyce, the school’s principal since 2022.
Mr. Aragon has served as the Assistant Principal for Student Support at Cesar Chavez High School since 2023. Mr. Aragon served PXU families beginning in 2015 as an honors biology and chemistry teacher at Camelback Montessori. Mr. Aragon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education Biology from Arizona State University. He holds two Master of Education degrees from Xavier and Arizona State in Montessori Education and Educational Administration and Supervision, respectively.
Mr. Aragon boasts a track record of proven success as a teacher and leader in Phoenix Union. Including six years teaching honors-level sciences, where he cultivated a student-centered and project-based learning environment founded on curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration. His approach to education emphasizes real-world relevance and personal growth while empowering students to take ownership of their learning journey.
“Mr. Aragon is a passionate and driven leader,” PXU Superintendent Thea Andrade said. “He is ready to move Bioscience forward, and we cannot wait to see what happens at this incredible school under his strong leadership.”
