Camelback High School is the home of the SPARTANS who live by the slogan, “WE ARE THE SHIELD”!  The school opened it’s doors in 1954 and adopted the Spartan mascot as well as the colors, Orange and Blue.  Camelback High School has a rich and storied history in the community and while today we say “WE ARE THE SHIELD” we also abide by the belief of, “Once a Spartan, always a Spartan” which is inclusive of the thousands of young minds who were affected by Camelback educators for nearly 70 years!  

In the year 2021, Camelback High School serves over 2,200 students who represent dozens of countries and collectively speak over 30 different languages.  We are immensely proud of the diversity of Camelback High School and our ability to realize the promise of an excellent education for any student who walks through our doors.

We have adopted the slogan, “WE ARE THE SHIELD” because for ancient Spartans the ‘Shield” was their most scared tool.  They knew that by working together as one (with their shields) that they were an unstoppable and undefeated force.  For the Camelback community today we exemplify this belief by always working together, supporting one another and living the value that we are stronger together, WE ARE THE SHIELD!
