Description

 Teen Health and Wellness

Teen Health and Wellness is a comprehensive database designed to help teenagers understand their health and well-being. It covers a wide range of subjects, including diseases, drugs, alcohol, and mental health. The website is regularly updated with important information on topics that impact today's teens, including bullying, social media, vaping, opioid abuse, gender identity, sexual harassment, and COVID-19.

Classroom Applications

Teen Health and Wellness is a great learning tool for physical education, health, psychology and sports medicine classes. This database is also a great tool for PXU counselors, social workers, psychologists, and other behavior support staff.

Possible research projects:

  • Health: Substance Use Education- Create lessons that explore the risks and consequences of drugs, alcohol, and smoking.

  • Psychology: Mental Health Awareness- Create lessons about anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and peer pressure to gain awareness of these important topics.

  • Sports Medicine: Create lessons on treating sports injuries, the concussion protocol, and strength and flexibility training to prevent injuries.
