Dear Students, Faculty and Parents,
My name is Mr. Bordeleau. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love for learning and research. My favorite books are usually about history or war. I also love the classics. I attended Arizona State University and graduated with a B.A. in History in 1996 (4.0 G.P.A). Then, I went on to the University of Arizona to get my M.A. in Libary Science in 1997. Most people define a professional librarian as someone possesing an MA in library science from an ALA (American Library Association) accredited school. I got my degree in teaching from Ottawa University. In 1998, I started working at Bostrom High School, part of the Phoenix Union High School District. I helped start three small school libraries at Bostrom, Linda Abril and Desiderata. In 2013, I was hired at Central High School as a Teacher-Librarian. In five years, I have helped increase library circulation (the number of books checked out to students) by 500%. In 2013-14, the library checked out 4,500 books. Last school year, we checked out over 21,000 books. It has been great working at Central. We have the best students and the most talented educators and administrators in the district.
Please email or call me with any concerns you may have with the library.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve,
Mr. Bordeleau, Central Teacher-Librarian
