PXU Library Mission Statement

To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information; students are empowered to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information to prepare them for college, career and life.

Central High School Vision Statement

Creating a welcoming and nurturing climate to ensure academic and personal growth on a culturally rich campus, to be a foundation for students’ post-secondary goals.

Central Library is the heart of Central High School.  Central Library leads PXU Libraries in both print and digital circulation. We strive to assemble the best collection for staff and students. We also seek to have the best customer service. In addition to promoting reading, we teach students how to conduct research, a prerequisite skill for students wanting to go to college.  We are constantly striving to improve our service for staff and students.

Availability for Students

Students do not need a pass to come to the library before school, during lunch and after school. However, the library may be closed during lunch for school and/or district events.

Partnerships

We have a partnership with the Phoenix Suns. Through Suns Charities, we offer tutoring services for students. In addition, we have Suns Incentive Days, where we honor the top readers, students with top grades, students with the most tutoring hours, students of the month, and other categories. Students receive a lunch and Phoenix Suns merchandise.
