Scholarship Information
Alhambra's scholarship database is organized by general scholarships (scholarships that can be used almost anywhere), ASU, NAU, UofA, and the community colleges. Each category has its own link on the left-hand side of the website underneath the Scholarship Information heading. Scholarships are organized by application due date.
In general, there are two main types of scholarships: need-based and merit-based. Need-based scholarships are dependent on the amount of money a student's family earns. Students are automatically evaluated for need-based scholarships upon filling out the FAFSA. Merit-based scholarships are based on students' academic success (grades, GPA, class rank, etc.), school involvement, leadership, and/or community service. Some of the scholarships listed in our database fall into different categories as well. They may pertain to students' intended college majors, special interests they have, or how talented they are in a particular area.
In addition to Alhambra's scholarship database, College Depot is a wonderful resource for students who want to broaden their search. College Depot maintains a thorough list of current and upcoming scholarships. Students can search based on a series of customizable criteria to find the scholarships that are just right for them. We recommend checking the College Depot website weekly to see if any new scholarships have been posted.
