Manuel Silvas joined Phoenix Union High School District as a Dean of Students at Carl Hayden Community High School on July 1, 2008. He served as Assistant Principal for Registration from 2011-2015 at Trevor Browne and South Mountain High School, Principal of Maryvale High School from 2015-2018, Metro, Talent Director for Certified Personnel from 2018-2022 and is currently the Executive Director for Talent, leading the districts’ Human Resources personnel and administrative services.

Before joining Phoenix Union, Silvas served as an Assistant Principal and Principal within the Wilson School District and taught in the Creighton School District. A native of Arizona where he attended Tempe Union High School. He earned an Bachelor Degree from Arizona State University in Elementary Education and Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University. Silvas and his family live in Laveen, Arizona.
