Pharmacy
The Pharmacy Support Services program is a two-year class offered to juniors and seniors in the Phoenix Union High School District. This class prepares students to become a Pharmacy Technician in Arizona. Students learn about the healthcare environment, and often plan to attend college to major in Nursing, Pre-Med and a variety of other healthcare professions. Many students in this program are also enrolled in Honors and AP classes, and have completed Chemistry. Students must maintain a 76% or better passing grade in order to attend this program.
Pharmacy Support Services uses PioneerRx Pharmacy Software in the classroom. By partnering with PioneerRx Pharmacy Software, our program allows students to learn in a real-world environment using the most installed software for independent pharmacies. Students enhance their clinical and functional skills by training in a pharmacy system that is innovative, robust, and feature-rich. To work in a pharmacy setting, students must be eighteen years of age and pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam after high school graduation. The average starting salary for full-time Certified Pharmacy Technicians in Arizona is over $32k per year.
