Young Adult Literature

Each year ten new books published for adults are given an Alex Award for their appeal to Young Adults.

First-time authors writing exemplary literature for teens are recognized every year with the Morris Award. 

Every year several newly published, young adult books are recognized for their excellence by being honored with the Printz Award.  

Teen book club members from schools and public libraries across the country vote for the best books for teens published in the previous year. This "teen choice list" is called the Teens' Top Ten.

 YALSA, the Young Adult Library Services Association, maintains many title lists of books and other media that represents the best of young adult literature. Arizona librarians select ten books every year that appeal to teens and are quality young adult literature, resulting in the Grand Canyon Reader Award title list.

Maricopa County Library District offers a variety of print and digital resources to support literacy and  learning.
